Acne scars are the number one complaint we receive from our clients. We are proud to say we have numerous treatments that are effective for acne scars removal. Dr. Zadeh recommends a combination of treatments to effectively reduce the appearance of acne scars. Incorporating chemical peels, collagen induction therapy (microneedling) and/or laser resurfacing into your treatment plan will lead to the best results.

1. Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is a great option to start with. Our favorite chemical peels are:

VIPeel

The VI Peel was designed for people on the go who want the results of deeper chemical peels, but without the discomfort and downtime. The VIPeel uses a blend of powerful ingredients, suitable for all skin types. This peel provides dramatic results, purifying acne skin conditions and reducing acne scars. It will offer some correction, but multiple treatments are needed to reach desired goals.

Obagi Blue Peel Radiance

The Obagi Blue Radiance Peel contains extra additives to help soothe your skin, ideal for people with sensitive skin. The peel provides superficial exfoliation, with no downtime. The peel works great not only as an active treatment, but also as a preventative treatment. Each peel can be repeated as often as every two weeks, if necessary, for damaged skin.

2. Nano-Ray Laser

The Nano-Ray Laser treats the entire surface of the skin with a series of light pulses using an incredible degree of precision that can be measured in microns. This precise control allows Dr. Zadeh to treat the acne scars around delicate areas such as around the mouth, the forehead, nose, and chin. After the damaged skin is removed, new skin will quickly regrow in its place. The treatment takes only 10–15 minutes and vaporizes your acne scars, allowing smoother skin to take its place. It can also be used on other parts of the body such as the back.

Treatment with the Nano-Ray Laser can provide dramatic improvements to severe acne scars. Deeper-lying skin blemishes such as acne scars, may require several treatments to help your skin look young and beautiful again. The before and after picture of acne scars at the top of the page is the result of 1 treatment with the Nano-Ray Laser.

3. Microneedling

Microneedling allows us to treat the deeper parts of your skin without effecting the top layer of skin. There are several microneedling devices and techniques in the market today. Dr. Zadeh uses a revolutionary new microneedle device that contains 24 karat gold needles – each of which is smaller than a strand of hair. Using this device, Dr. Zadeh is able to deliver products directly into the dermal layer of the skin with no pain, bleeding, bruising or downtime. No other microneedling device can do this. Dr. Zadeh customizes the products he uses based on your individual needs. Using a combination of customized products as well as collagen induction with microneedling can help to reduce the appearance of acne scars.

4. Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers can help volumize and improve the appearance of acne scars. They are especially useful for atrophic acne scars.

5. Acne Facial

This facial treatment is specifically targeted towards acne prone skin. The treatment includes deep cleansing, exfoliation, steam, extractions and a blemish control mask designed to fight acne. It works great in combination with our VI Peel Acne chemical peel.

6. After Care

Aftercare and maintenance will be very important for keeping your skin clear of acne scars. Our skin care specialists can recommend a personalized skincare regimen to help you maintain your amazing results.

Treatment of acne scars takes time and combination treatments work best to provide optimal results. Treatments will vary based on aggressiveness and downtime. It is important that you find an experienced physician to treat your acne scars and communicate your goals clearly with them. Feel free to contact us to schedule a consultation and evaluation with Dr. Zadeh to determine which acne scar treatment is most appropriate for you.
